World of Tanks Mercenaries update 4.6 adds all new content

With 17 million registered players, World of Tanks Mercernaries has gone from strength to strength. The official World of Tanks console version has just been updated to World of Tanks Mercenaries 4.6 which adds a host of new features to the game. 

World of Tanks console players will now have access to a brand new camera mode, new vehicles, Crews and maps. World of Tanks Mercenaries 4.6 is a big step forward for the console version and is aiming to fulfil community requests.

The Mercenaries Tech Tree introduced in version 4.5 is now able to be earned free of charge. Players will simply need to complete Contract missions.

World of Tanks Mercenaries 4.6

One of the larger changes being brought to World of Tanks Mercenaries in update 4.6 is the all-new Artillery camera. Played from the Trajectory view, players will be able to view the action from lower to the ground than the existing bird’s eye view.

The Trajectory camera also rotates to follow the path of the shell and uses the tank as the central point. Wargaming wants players to feel as close to the action as possible, and hope that the trajectory view achieves this.

An oft-requested feature in World of Tanks Mercenaries is for health bars to also show numbers indicating enemy and ally health. Players are able to opt into this feature and when active will be able to see how much health is left on their team or the enemy’s.

World of Tanks Mercenaries players will be pleased to know that there is a range of new vehicles to use with update 4.6. Wargaming has listed the following as a teaser of what’s available;

  • Thresher: a well-armoured Light Tank with an aggressive weapon. It’s operated by Dark Fox, a New Zealander who served under British command during World War II before going rogue and seeking revenge against Axis forces.
  • Long Reach: a Heavy Tank that brings together the best of British, German, and Soviet engineering. It’s captained by Brutal Beast, a Swiss ex-spy who travels across Europe, liberating towns and their people from German rule. 
  • Sharpshooter: this Medium Tank combines machinery from Axis and Allied tanks, making for a nimble vehicle that packs a reliable shot. It’s under the command of Red Sentinel, an Italian soldier driven mad by the heat as he held his position against waves of Allied soldiers in a small Tunisian town.

World of Tanks Mercenaries 4.6 will also add new Tier X tanks in both the Chinese and British tech trees. The WZ-111 5A is the massive Chinese addition while the British Super Conqueror jumps on board for the Brits. 

Both tanks are heavily armoured with great handling and decent speeds, so smaller, lighter armoured tanks will struggle to keep up.

Part of update 4.6 includes the addition of two new maps; Caen 1944 and Pearl River. Caen 1944 is based on a real-life French town that was liberated during the Battle of Normandy. The map was originally used as the finale of the Operation Sea Lion War Story and will be familiar to anyone who’s played it. 

World of Tanks Mercenaries 4.6 is available now and adds all these new features to an already packed game. World of Tanks Mercenaries is free to play on PS4 and Xbox One.
