Crystal Dynamics expands its HQ and creates brand-new Bellvue, Washington studio

Crystal Dynamics is going from strength to strength. Today, it announced that it has expanded its headquarters and created a brand-new studio. Its HQ in Redwood Shores has recently seen some new key hires.

A new studio, Crystal Dynamics Northwest, has also been opened in Bellvue, Washington.

Crystal Dynamics Northwest has started operations in the heart of Seattle and is a “full-fledged extension” of the company. Its focus, for now, is on tech, however, it will add more expertise and development knowledge to the Avengers Project which is still in development at Crystal Dynamics.

Being added to the HQ in Redwood Shores are development legends like Vincent Napoli, God of War and Ben Wanat, Dead Space.

Co-Head of Crystal Dynamics Scot Amos said; “We’re aggressively scaling up our teams and adding a new studio with spectacular talent to deliver the ultimate gaming experiences for our players.

“We have assembled a team of industry veterans and leaders in order to create gaming experiences that surpass the expectations of our passionate community.”

At Crystal Dynamics, Napoli will take on the role of Lead Combat Designer. His work on God of War is incredibly impressive and an in-depth look at his work on the Leviathan Axe is fascinating.

Other developers joining the studio are David Fifield from 343 Industries and Halo and was also Game Director at Raven Software. Crystal Dynamics is proving to be a much sought after employer, attracting talent from Naughtry Dog, Pixar, EA and Sony Santa Monica.

Co-Head of Crystal Dynamics Ron Rosenberg said “Our new studio in Bellevue, and the new hires in Redwood Shores, represent our continued commitment to the most ambitious project we’ve ever created.

“We’ll keep building on the exciting growth Crystal Dynamics has experienced over the last several years, and are eager to deliver a world-class Avengers experience for fans around the world.”

Crystal Dynamics is currently developing Shadow of the Tomb Raider and is known for GexLegacy of Kain and Pandemonium.
