Rumour – Ridley, Simon Belmont and Ice Climbers to appear in Super Smash Bros Switch

Reddit user, serial leaker and rumour-smith DasVergeben is back with some alleged Super Smash Bros Switch information.

In his post on Reddit, DasVergeben claims that inside sources have verified that Ridley, Simon Belmont and the Ice Climbers will all appear in Super Smash Bros Switch. Ridley will be revealed at E3 as a new challenger, however, it’s not been stated how and when Simon Belmont or the Ice Climbers will be announced

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard that the Ice Climbers will be back for Super Smash Bros Switch, though so far, Nintendo has remained tight-lipped about the game.

Super Smash Bros Switch

Ridley has long been a fan request in Super Smash Bros and was included in the opening cutscene of Super Smash Bros Melee and as a boss in Brawl’s Subspace Emissary Mode.

In Super Smash Bros for Wii U/3DS, Ridley appeared as a stage boss on Pyrosphere.

If this leak is true, then longtime Smash Bros fans will definitely have something to be excited about at E3.

The other rumoured new character, Simon Belmont, is known as the protagonist of the Castlevania series. No other information about the character was given by DasVergeben.

Also included in the leaked information was the fact that all characters, including guests, from Super Smash Bros Wii U, would be returning for Super Smash Bros Switch. According to DasVergeben, Super Smash Bros Switch will be a brand-new game, but won’t cut any characters from the previous roster.

DasVergeben correctly leaked Injustice 2’s Fighter Pack 3 a week early, but incorrectly leaked that HearthStone would be coming to Switch. His track record is spotty, but enough correct information has been leaked in the past to give his rumours at least a cursory look.

As with all rumours, leaks and speculation, take it all with a grain of salt. Nintendo isn’t known for revealing things before it’s ready so don’t expect any concrete Super Smash Bros Switch information until E3.

That being said, if Nintendo finally gets around to including Ridley in Smash Bros, the community is going to lose its collective mind.

Super Smash Bros Switch will be available for Switch at a later date.
