Rumour – The Division developer Massive Entertainment working on Battle Royale game

A rumour has surfaced today claiming that Ubisoft has commissioned a Massive Entertainment Battle Royale game. Massive, the developer of The Division is based in Malmö, Sweden and is currently working on The Division 2

In addition to the sequel, Massive is also working on updating and adding content to The Division as well as developing a game based on James Cameron’s Avatar.

Massive Entertainment Battle Royale Game

Even with all of the current development occurring, an anonymous source has told GameReactor that Ubisoft has requested a Massive Entertainment Battle Royal game.

Apparently, Ubisoft gave Massive this task back in January in response to the overwhelming popularity of both Epic’s Fortnite and PUBG.

The source also claimed that Massive was keen to jump on board and told Ubisoft that it could put something together really quickly. Given that The Division already uses a 3rd-person cover shooter mechanic, it seems likely that Massive could use that to create something suitable.

Whether or not this rumour is true remains to be seen.

What do you think about a The Division flavoured Battle Royale game?
