The English speaking voice acting for Kingdom Hearts 3 is underway, development must be nearing completion

Any news about the Kingdom Hearts 3 development is good news. Today we’ve learnt that the English speaking voice recordings are underway.

Surely this is a good sign, as it means progress on Kingdom Hearts 3 development must be moving forward. We have heard in the past that the Kingdom Hearts 3 release date would be announced before E3 2018.

While we don’t have that information today, the news we do have is still very exciting.

Kingdom Hearts 3 Development

News of the Kingdom Hearts 3 voice acting being recorded comes courtesy of Hades himself, Mr James Woods.

A fan on Twitter asked Woods why he’d been absent from the platform for so long and Woods retweeted him saying that he’d been busy playing poker and working on Kingdom Hearts 3.

Woods played Hades in Hercules in 1997 and reprised the role in the Hercules video game and every Kingdom Hearts title that’s featured Hades.

  • Kingdom Hearts
  • Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories
  • Kingdom Hearts II
  • Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep
  • Kingdom Hearts Re:coded

With Woods revealing that he’s working on voicing Kindom Hearts 3, development of the title must be nearing completion. Obviously, there is still plenty to do before the game is released, but having English speaking voice actors record their lines bodes well for a release before the end of 2018.

Additionally, this news on the Kingdom Hearts 3 development suggests that we’ll be treated to some English speaking footage of Kingdom Hearts 3 at E3 2018.

There have been suggestions that Square Enix would announce the release date for Kingdom Hearts 3 to coincide with the anniversary of the first game’s release. However, that anniversary has come and gone, so it’s unlikely we’ll be hearing anything, anytime soon.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is the long-awaited sequel in the Disney/Square Enix franchise that sees Disney characters interact with those from Final Fantasy.

It will be released for PS4 and Xbox One.
