Bluepoint Games’ next title is another remake

Bluepoint Games’ next title is confirmed to be another remake. After the success of Shadow of the Colossus on PS4, the studio revealed to Eurogamer that it’s working on yet another remake.

Bluepoint Games has become something of a wunderkind in the world of game remakes/remasters. The idea of another from the studio is incredibly tantalising.

Bluepoint Games next title

Speaking to Eurogamer, Bluepoint revealed that it was working on another remake when asked if it would be working on an original title.

“We could but we’re doing another remake,” President and co-owner of Bluepoint, Marco Thrush said. “This project served us as a great point of growing the art team to the point where we can take on a full triple-A game major scope of art content.

“So now our next step is, let’s improve the art pipeline, let’s improve the engine, let’s improve workflow for artists, let’s grow on the art side some more to handle our next project because it’s a bit bigger.

“And our next focus is, all right, let’s work on the design and add new stuff to get to the next remake because now that can be our sole focus of making sure that’s where we put the time and everybody else, they’re already at a level where we can perform.”

What could it be?

Bluepoint Games’ next title being a remake conjures up endless possibilities. Just exactly what it could be is up for debate, but based on the past we may be able to make educated an educated guess.

Bluepoint’s list of released games is as follows;

2006 Blast Factor
2009 God of War Collection
2011 The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection
2011 Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
2012 PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
2013 Flower
2014 Titanfall
2015 Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection
2015 Gravity Rush Remastered
2018 Shadow of the Colossus

While Bluepoint Games is an independent company it has worked almost exclusively with Sony. Only Metal Gear Solid HD and Titanfall have been released for Xbox 360 and none of its titles have been released for a Nintendo platform or PC.

Based on past releases, it’s likely that Bluepoint is working on another title for PS4 and our top suspects are;

  • Ape Escape – or its sequels
  • Killzone
  • Twisted Metal Black
  • inFAMOUS 1 and 2
  • Uncharted 3
  • MediEvil

In the interview with Eurogamer, Bluepoint wouldn’t give away any hints on what its next title was but Marco Thrush said, “We’re really excited about our next project and we think you will be too when you find out what it is.”

We bet we will too. Stay tuned.
