Konami is having ‘internal discussions’ about what titles it can bring to Switch, including Castlevania

After the success of Super Bomberman R, it’s been revealed that there are internal discussions regarding releasing Konami games on Switch.

In an interview with Miketendo64, Richard Jones, a European Brand Manager at Konami said that the publisher is discussing games for Nintendo’s console.

Konami Games on Switch

With the success of Super Bomberman R on Switch and the Castlevania series on Netflix, there’s been a push from fans for Castlevania on Switch.

All I can say is that there is lots of internal discussions going on within Konami regarding what games we can bring to the Nintendo Switch.

We are well aware of its heritage and how loved it [Bomberman] and Castlevania are. So much so that Castlevania is getting is getting its own show on Netflix.

We’re hearing a lot of desires from our fans for a new Castlevania series.

So we do know there is a demand for a new game, but right now nothing is set in stone as the discussions are still on going.

This neither confirms nor denies that Konami is planning to release a Castlevania game on Switch.

By stating that ‘discussions are still on going’ Jones has revealed that the publisher is thinking about releasing Konami games on Switch.

Castlevania is perfect for Switch

In the interview with Miketendo64, Jones mentioned that the reception from fans to Super Bomberman R felt great for Konami.

It was especially enjoyable for the publisher to see fans be able to enjoy a new game in a long-standing series.

“We are truly pleased with the reception Super Bomberman R received,” Jones said. “We hope everyone who bought the game, enjoys it for what it is and as the game is the latest in a series that has brought fans the world over a lot of joy.”

This statement doesn’t mention Castlevania but taken into consideration with the rest of the conversation, it’s telling.

A new Castlevania title released on Switch would also be “the latest in the series that has brought fans the world over a lot of joy.”

Hearing from fans that there is a desire for Castlevania must be having an effect on consideration of Konami games on Switch. Especially considering that an old-school Castlevania would be perfect on Switch.

We’ll keep a close eye on any Switch related news from Konami and we’ll be sure to report whatever we learn.

What do you think about a new Castlevania on Switch? What other Konami games on Switch would you like to see?
