Dishonored: Death of the Outsider – How to Break into the Black Market (Chapter 3)

Dishonored’s latest instalment — Death of the Outsider — is available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Like Dishonored and Dishonored II, Death of the Outsider is a darkly humorous journey through a strange world.

Through the five chapters of Death of the Outsider, there are multiple paths to take, secrets to find and of course, people to kill; or knockout if you prefer. In this series of guides, we’ll show you how to unlock Trophies/Achievements, find secret areas and more.

How to break into the Black Market in Chapter 3

In Chapter 3, the Black Market is under new management, if you robbed it in Chapter 2. The security system has been upgraded and the combination lock has been removed. To get inside, you’ll need to find the bank’s custodian and his Sewer Maintenance key.

As part of the main mission to rob the bank, you’ll have a waypoint directing you to the custodian’s home. It’s located above the taxidermy store, between the location where the newspaper boy is and the Spector Club. If you investigate the custodian’s home you’ll discover that he’s missing and has been for a while, but you’ll find some information on his last known whereabouts.

Go to the Cliffs

The custodian can be found near the bank, on the cliffs to the right-hand side. To get there you’ll need to get past a big group of guards and wolfhounds. The best way is to stay up high and avoid being on the ground level until you need to. Once you’re past the main square in front of the bank, head to the right and down the cliffs to find the custodian’s body.

Once you grab the key, you’ll need to head to the opposite side of the bank building and go down the stairs and unlock the sewers. Inside you’ll find a wrench which you’ll need to unlock maintenance access doors. In the video above you’ll see another door being unlocked which leads inside the bank

Go back to the Black Market

With the wrench in your possession, carefully make your way back towards the Black Market. Stay up high again and avoid the enemies. Once you make it back to the broken cable car, head down the stairs and turn 180 to face the dead end. There will be a door here that requires the wrench. In Chapter 2, it was covered with unbreakable debris.

Use the wrench on the door and head inside. Go down the stairs and you’ll be able to see into the Black Market through a barred window. Shoot the new shopkeep with an electric dart and then shoot the door release button with a Voltaic dart.

The Black Market is now yours for the taking.
