Life is Strange: Before the Storm episode one is out today, short film ‘An Open Letter’ released

Episode One of Life is Strange: Before the Storm, “Awake”, is available today. To coincide with the release, Square Enix has released an emotive video, meant to look at the relationships between people.

The video, titled ‘An Open Letter’, reflects on friendships, love and support. Three key themes in Life is Strange: Before the Storm. In Life is Strange: BtS, Chloe and Rachel are two friends who bond over time. The video shows that people can always name a person who defined a special time in their lives. ‘An Open Letter’ features a small group of real people who are invited to write an open letter to those people in their lives.

According to Square Enix VP for Brand Marketing Jon Brooke, the video is designed to capture the emotion and spirit of the game.

It’s designed to remind us that life is all about our relationships and a strong friendship can change everything. I hope everyone can relate to that – Jon Brooke, Square Enix” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””][/perfectpullquote]

Designed by Creative Agency, Ralph, the video features pairs of best friends sharing stories and insights. Ralph’s Creative Director Gregor Stevenson said “The raw intensity of their reactions as they read their best friends’ innermost thoughts is what we wanted to capture from the start. And that’s what we got.”

Life is Strange: Before the Storm is a prequel to Life is Strange. Set three years before the events of the first game, it tells the story of Chloe Price and Rachel Amber. These two unlikely friends find their world upside down when a family secret if revealed.

Episode One “Awake” is available now. Look for our review shortly.
