California’s secession group takes its name from Fallout

As spotted by Business Insider, the Calexit movement which sprang up after the election of Donald Trump to the US Presidency has more than a little in common with Fallout.

The group, which is now naming themselves ‘New California Republic’ revealed their flag on Twitter and it bears (no pun intended) a striking resemblance to the flag of the group of the same name from the Fallout universe.

In Fallout the New California Republic is one of many factions that have been created in the wake of the power vacuum created by the nuclear war. One of Calexit’s most prominent and vocal backers, Shervin Pishevar told Business Insider that the name an flag were a coincidence “but a cool link.”
