Modern Warfare Remastered trailer released, may require Infinite Warfare disc to play

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is coming soon and Activision has advised that along with the new trailer (above) any player who purchases or has purchased Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy or Digital Deluxe Edition on PS4, will be able to play the entire Modern Warfare Remastered campaign 30 days early.

This allows them to play from October 5, rather than the November 4 release date of the next installment of Call of DutyThis is all well and good for digital players, but those who planned to purchase Infinite Warfare solely for the COD4 remaster might be in for a nasty surprise.

According to Charlie Intel, the retail edition of Infinite Warfare is required to play Modern Warfare Remastered. New wording spotted on the official CoD website reads, “Modern Warfare Remastered is a full game download (game disc must be inserted to play Modern Warfare Remastered).” This means it’s unlikely that players will be able to access Modern Warfare Remastered without either purchasing the digital edition of Infinite Warfare or keeping the physical disc.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on November 4, 2016.
