Based on Jane Harper’s novel, The Survivors has received a trailer, poster, first-look images, and a release date today courtesy of Netflix. The 6-part limited series was filmed in Tasmania and is “both a gripping murder mystery and an intense family drama set in one of the most picturesque places in Australia.
Starring Aussie and New Zealand acting mainstays Damien Garvey (The Artful Dodger, Nautilus), Catherine McClements (Apple Cider Vinegar, Return to Paradise), Martin Sacks (Irreverent, Wentworth), and Robyn Malcolm (After the Party, Far North), The Survivors also includes a slew of up and coming talent.
This includes Yerin Ha (Bridgerton S4, Halo), Charlie Vickers (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart), Thom Green (Apple Cider Vinegar, Ladies in Black), George Mason (Last Days of the Space Age, The Power of the Dog), Shannon Berry (Watson, The Wilds), and Jessica De Gouw (The Union, The Couple Next Door).

Per Netflix, The Survivors synopsis reads, “Kieran Elliott’s life changed forever when two people drowned and a young girl went missing in his home town of Evelyn Bay. Fifteen years later, returning with his young family, the guilt that still haunts him resurfaces.
“When the body of a young woman is found on the beach, the town is once again rocked by tragedy and the investigation of her death threatens to reveal long-held secrets, the truth about the missing girl, and a killer amongst them”
