Suicide Squad: KTJL Season 2 Put on Ice, Fans Asked to Chill

Fans waiting to get their Mrs. Freeze fix have been left out in the cold today, thanks to the new content drop for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League being put on ice until late July. Delays are a natural part of the industry, however, there’s an element of whiplash here as Rocksteady Studios opted to delay the launch of its Second Season a mere two days before it was meant to arrive.

Needless to say, the news was met with a middling-to-chilly reception when it was announced officially:

A “release timing adjust” was the term used on X/Twitter with the projected thawing of this content being pushed back to July 25. For those of you who have fallen out of orbit with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, this will be phase 2 of a projected four total seasons. The content included will be two new episodes entitled “Winter” and “Frozen Hearts,” a host of new weapons, and a new map to dispense gun-based justice within.

I daresay today’s announcement certainly won’t improve the game’s current predicament—catastrophically low player numbers. How have we reached these difficult straits? Widespread negative reactions from fans and critics, plus there were post-launch insider reports of a chaotic development cycle and unrealistic sales expectations, which, if true, must have played a role too.

Be that as it may, I’m personally hoping Rocksteady Studios can use the extra time and Seasons ahead to make a u-turn of sorts. And if you think that redemption arc could never happen, well, clearly you’ve not played Cyberpunk 2077 or No Man’s Sky in a while.
