Tetris starring Taryn Egerton comes to Apple TV+ on 31 March 2023

Have you ever played Tetris and thought, “you know what? This would make a great movie”? Probably not. But the people at Apple TV+ did and now, Tetris is just over a month from premiering on the streaming service.

And it looks incredible.

According to Apple, “Tetris tells the unbelievable story of how one of the world’s most popular video games found its way to avid players around the globe.”

From the trailer, we can see that Egerton’s Henk Rogers, after discovering Tetris in 1988, travels to the Soviet Union to secure the rights to the game to release it on GameBoy. Based on a true story, Tetris is described as “a Cold War–era thriller on steroids, with double-crossing villains, unlikely heroes, and a nail-biting race to the finish.”

Tetris is directed by Jon S. Baird (Filth) and stars Nikita Efremov, Sofia Lebedeva, Anthony Boyle and Toby Jones, alongside Egerton.

Tetris will premiere on Apple TV+ on 31 March 2023.
