Ubisoft announced the launch of the Watch_Dogs 2 worldwide film festival today. Running from October 15 through November 15 the competition will reward creative fans and film makers who best capture the theme; ‘Hacking Heroes.’
The festival is a partnership between Ubisoft, Parrot, Sony and YouTube Gaming and will be judged by Film Maker Louis Leterrier, Brand Content Director Thomas Geffroyd and Creative Director Jonathan Morin.
Leterrier is best known for directing The Transporter, The Incredible Hulk and Now You See Me.
“We cannot wait to see what the fans will come up with. Sky’s the limit but we are expecting real originality no matter what scale, length, and format” said Louis Leterrier. “A good film is a film that stays with the audience long after they’ve seen it. We have no doubt that the contestants will succeed to surprise us.”
To be eligible for entry, videos must feature a smartphone and must be between 5 seconds and 5 minutes in length. Videos must be uploaded to the film festival website.
Three international prizes will be awarded in addition to eight local ones. The Grand Prize winner will receive $73,000 AUD and two tickets to the Assassin’s Creed movie premiere. Other prizes include Watch_Dogs 2/PS4 bundles, Parrot Bebop 2 and more.

Watch_Dogs 2 will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on November 15, 2016.
