Serious Sam 4 delayed until September 24, 2020

Serious Sam 4, originally scheduled to release in August 2020, Croteam and Devolver Digital have now released a new release date trailer. Scheduled to release on September 24, 2020 (for real this time). The 20 second trailer is utterly brilliant and a perfect way to announce the delay.

Serious Sam 4 is the first in the franchise since 2011’s Serious Sam 3 and features Croteam’s Legion software that allows thousands and thousands of enemies to appear on the screen at one time.

Developed by Croteam for Serious Sam 4, Dean Sekulić, Graphics Engineer calls it a “really nice trick.” The Legion System allows Croteam to display “hundreds of thousands of enemies on screen.”

Familiar enemies will return in Serious Sam 4 alongside some brand-new enemies and characters. Croteam says that some of the new characters in the game are incredibly important for Serious Sam 4 and the future of the franchise.

Murdering these enemies will be done with a bigger and better arsenal with some ridiculous weapons at your disposal. Players can wield the double-barrel shotgun, minigun, chainsaw launcher, auto shotgun, cannon and more.

Finally, players will be able to tackle Serious Sam 4 in both single player and co-op. Four players can team up in online co-op to complete missions and side quests with bonus difficulty modifers.

Serious Sam 4 launches on September 24, 2020.
