After being announced last month, and spending time in open beta on PC, Ubisoft has launched its futuristic, virtual Battle Royale, Hyper Scape on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Available now, free-to-play, Hyper Scape has launched alongside its first season dubbed ‘The First Principle.’

Like other Battle Royale titles, Hyper Scape has seasons which include a 100 tier battle pass for players to work their way through. Hyper Scape’s battle pass includes a premium and free track and by purchasing the Premium Battle Pass, players instantly unlock Journalist Nahari.

Players are also able to purchase a Hyper Battle Pass which instantly unlocks the first 25 levels and grants access to Journalist Nahari and Shadow Rook. The Premium Battle Pass costs 950 Bitcrowns and the Hyper Battle Pass costs 2500 Bitcrowns.

The Season 1 Starter Pack includes 1,000 Bitcrowns, Simon Protege Champion; Cyber Saber Melee Weapon Design, Voltcraft Deployment Pod, Circuit Holo-Tag and Respect Emote. It will only be available during Season 1. The narrative of Hyper Scape will begin to be revealed during Season 1 with players able to collect Memory Shards which provide details about characters and events.

Each week, a new Memory Shard will be hidden in the game for players to discover. Hyper Scape comics will also be released during and after Season 1 to help establish the story.

Finally, Season 1 introduces the Dragonfly, a new mid-range weapon, as well as a new Hack; Magnet. A total of 11 guns and 11 Hacks are available in Season 1.

Hyper Scape’s CrownCast Extension is a feature on Twitch Ubisoft has built in order to support content creators. CrownCast allows viewers to vote on game changing effects and to level up their Battle Pass, simply by watching Hyper Scape content.

Ubisoft has announced it is teaming up with Twitch to host Twitch Rivals: Hyper Scape APAC Showdown. Taking place August 27, this is the first-ever cross-region event held in the Asia Pacific and will see 60 creators from ANZ, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and the Mandarin-speaking region invited to participate.

Four teams from each region will compete in a three-hour point race with the top ranking team in each region heading to the finals. Here, teams will face off in a one-hour kill race to determine final placement. The prize pool is up to $50,000 USD and there are additional prizes up for grabs.

Viewers can influence gameplay by taking part in pop-up voting that impacts the battlefield and changes the nature of the match. Additional details, including participating players, will be announced in the coming weeks.

Hyper Scape is available free now.
