Bungie launches global fundraiser to support healthcare workers

Bungie has announced the Guardian’s Heart fundraising initiative today. In response to the outbreak of COVID-19, Bungie has partnered with Direct Relief to support healthcare workers and frontline responders around the world. All money raised through the Guardian’s Heart initiative will go to Direct Relief who will use it to help those in need.

Bungie previously worked with Direct Relief to help those affected by the earthquake in Nepal and has created a special in-game emblem using the Direct Relief colours.

Direct Relief is;

a humanitarian aid organization, active in all 50 states and more than 80 countries, with a mission to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies – without regard to politics, religion, or ability to pay.

Guardian’s Heart

Direct Relief will use the funds raised by this initiative to work with providers to “deliver the supplies that healthcare workers need. This includes basic personal protective equipment, including gloves, masks, gowns, and face shields.” The hospitals that employ those healthcare workers will receive “food covers, prescription medication, portable oxygen concentrators, ventilators, and other intensive care unit equipment.”

To take part in the Guardian’s Heart initiative, head to the Tiltify page and make a donation. If you donate $20 or more, you’ll receive the Guardian’s Heart Emblem in Destiny 2. You should receive your redeemable code within one week of making your donation.

At the time of writing, Bungie has already raised over $450,000 USD.

Please Note:

  • Each donor will earn one emblem.
  • Donations of more than $20 are welcome, but do not grant more emblems.
  • Additional donations made using the same email will not grant more emblems.

Bungie has stated;

We may have to stay home, but there is a lot we can do as a community to support the heroes who are still going out into the world every day to care for the sick. Guardians have proven to be a tremendous force for good in the world and your generosity in supporting others in the fight against COVID-19 is inspiring. Thank you.

Destiny 2 is available now.
