MSI Australia has announced the next generation of its gaming laptops with Intel’s 10th Gen Comet Lake H processors and Nvidia’s new RTX 2070 Super and 2080 Supergraphics. The new laptops are aimed at both gamers and creators with distinct differences in the designs with the latter being more subdued.
MSI says users can experience up to 50% performance boost with the new Comet Lake H processors. The new 10th Gen Core i9 processor boasts a maximum single-core clock speed of up to 5.3Ghz, a new record for mobile processors.
Additionally, the new Intel processors are paired with Nvidia’s latest and greatest GPUs, the GeForce RTX Super. Unlike the regular GeForce GPUS, the Super variations feature more cores and higher clock speeds. The Super GPUs can be up to 52% faster than the regular variants. Ray-tracing performance is improved and the new AI Enhanced Graphic(which most of you will recognize as DLSS) promises a 2x performance boost over the previous gen.
Yin and Yang: MSI GS66 Stealth and GE66 Raider
Leading the new laptop lineup are the twin MSI GS66 Stealth and GE66 Raider. The award-winning designed Stealth is aimed at creators and professionals and features a more subdued business like design in a matte black finish. The Raider, on the other hand, is aimed squarely at gamers and its design reflects that. A panoramic LED strip stretches across the front of the laptop and has 16.8million colours to play with.
MSI classes these twin laptops as Ultra stealth gaming; packing high-end performance inside a low profile, thin and light chassis. The laptops have a new Cooler Boost Trinity cooling system that features the worlds thinnest fan blades. At just 0.1mm, the blades are laser-edged and provide more efficient cooling in the thin chassis.
MSI is also offering 300Hz refresh displays and improved audio thanks to new MSI Duo Wave Speakers designed with Dynaudio. Streamers will appreciate the inclusion of faster, more efficient Killer Wi-Fi 6 across the entire range of laptops. A massive 99Whr battery should provide enough power to work through several hours away from the plug.
The rest of the MSI gaming lineup has also been updated as well. From the massive, desktop replacement GT Titan series through to the GE Raider and Leopard series, the laptops span every performance and price band.
