Recently the world is hyped by esports that have become more than a passing trend for younger sports fans. The rise of esports offers unfamiliar access to the sports world for younger audiences. With time the esports genre is expanding. This rapidly growing genre within sports and gaming is forecast to be a $1.5 billion industry by 2020.

The domain for esports is complex where innumerable gaming competitions are organized and that takes place live in sporting arenas. Esports can be easily streamed online too. Esports consists of a variety of types from League of Legends, a multiplayer battle arena game, to first-person shooters such as Counter-Strike, with it also one of the biggest esports on the planet. Esports came into being after the release of Xbox that was a game-changer. Xbox brought online playing to consoles. After the broadcast of Halo 2 on national TV, esports took off. Gaming and Esports – Are they really different?

Gaming and esports are often considered to be the same. Growing in the same medium does not mean that they are indistinguishable. Whereas Gaming is different. It is about fun and entertainment. Gaming is usually played on mobile phones or PC. Though advertisements are the core of gaming too but for different from esports.

Esports in the near future

Esports is expected to grow and grow in 2020. Approximate 26 % is expected for this year. Many different companies and celebrities’ stake in an esports team, prize money, sponsorships, etc. Furthermore, just like other sports, the sponsor advertises their brands on the player’s jerseys, in turn contributing a small portion of the profit.

Esports is a proper channel that has its team owners, contracts and partnerships. The players are given proper salaries. Players not only get salaries but numerous cash prizes always await them. A single player can get up to $ 250,000 a year. This makes esports a whole new dimension!

In the next few years, esports would take up the whole world. According to many reports, the esports economy will grow to $2.3 billion by 2022. Esports has already given a debut in South Korea and it has a chance to be added to the official Olympics as well. With the unprecedented growth, esports fans will be looking forward too much more in further years.

The esports influencers are reaching out to collaborate further as well. Everyone is fully aware and is heading towards ways to contribute to the profit. Various analytics are devising strategies in esports with time. Esports has now encapsulated people making millions of fans. People are getting more involved in it creating a new domain for the profits.
