Free-to-play Loot Shooter Vigor is coming to Switch, Closed Beta starts in April

Bohemia Interactive has announced it’s bringing its loot shooter, Vigor, to Nintendo Switch. Announced during the Nintendo Direct indie showcase, it’s now been revealed that a closed beta will take place in the beginning of April. Registrations for the beta open on April 2.

The closed beta will take place from April 9 through 16 and is the first step in Bohemia’s plan to expand Vigor to other platforms. Currently, only available on Xbox One, the Switch release version has no firm release date.

Bohemia has also announced that the closed beta will be based on Season 2: Hunters. However, there will be some slight changes.

Vigor Switch

There are some slight changes for the Closed Beta, like starting loadouts – since we couldn’t include the Crowns Store, you will get some loadouts at the start, as well as more beefy rewards from the game, just to help you progress faster – and to help us see how you and our Switch port are doing. We will also take some time to evaluate the data and improve the game after the Closed Beta ends.

Bohemia is hopeful that at release, the same version will be live on both Switch and Xbox One.

A separate team at Bohemia is working on the Switch version and so development and continual improvement of the Xbox One version isn’t compromised. A third season will be heading to Xbox One soon.

When the Switch version is released, players will be able to cross-play and matchmake “into the same Encounters without any restrictions. And both parties will benefit from faster matchmaking times thanks to the larger player base. “

Vigor is coming to Switch later this year and the closed beta will run from April 9 through 16. Players can register for the beta from April 2 on the Vigor website.
