Ubisoft and XP Esports are launching a Women’s Rainbow Six Siege League in ANZ

Ubisoft has announced today, that in partnership with XP Esports, it will launch the very first Rainbow Six Siege Women’s League in Australia and New Zealand. The Women’s League is open to all woman across Australia and New Zealand who ” have a passion for video game culture and esports.” Season One of the Women’s Rainbow Six Siege ANZ League commences in March 2020.

In Season One, a prize pool of $3,000 AUD will be on offer with free entry into the tournament for any interested players.

The Women’s Rainbow Six Siege ANZ League is the first of XP Esports Women’s Leagues. It says;

Be part of the most exciting Women’s Esports competition in ANZ, giving significant opportunity for Women in the esports and gaming industry to compete on a consistent and professional level.

Women’s Rainbow Six Siege ANZ League

Director of XP Esports, Brodie Fisher said, “As Director of Events for XP Esports, I am extremely pleased to announce the creation of an exciting, women’s esports competition for both online and offline professional events.

“We want to grow and develop the competitive women’s scene, as well as nurture new talent of all ages in professional and fun environments.”

The inaugural season is planned to run from March to April and will see a prize split of;

  • 1st: $1,500 AUD
  • 2nd: $1,000 AUD
  • 3rd: $500 AUD

Tegan Whitehead, Women’s League Director, said;

I am very excited to be working with XP Esports and Ubisoft on this league. We hope to see content creators, gamers of all levels and spectators fully support this event to ensure we are creating a fantastic future and opportunities for women in gaming

It’s truly exciting to see Ubisoft and XP Esports drive diversity and create a space for women gamers to demonstrate their skills in what is a male-dominated area.
