Fortnite returns to the Melbourne Esports Open in 2019

The global phenomenon that is Fortnite will be returning to the Melbourne Esports Open 2019. Across the two days of the event — August 31 and September 1, Fortnite fans will be able to take part in the massive Fortnite Stage at Margaret Court Arena. All of the action on-stage will be broadcast to a live audience and online and those playing will have the chance to play alongside popular content creators.

Open tournaments will run for the duration of the Melbourne Esports Open.

In addition to the Fortnite Stage, fans of the game will be able to get hands-on in the ‘Free-Play Field.’ Located within the JB Hi-Fi Game On Zone, twenty consoles will be running Fortnite for the duration of the event.

For those who fancy themselves amazing dancers, there will also be all-ages dance competitions each day. This will give everyone a chance to get up on stage, bust their best Fortnite moves and win prizes.

Fortnite was last at Melbourne & Olympic Parks during the Australian Open for the Summer Smash which saw 12,000 esports fans attend across two days.
