Developer Petroglyph explains why Conan Unconquered’s multiplayer is great

Conan Unconquered, developed by Petroglyph and published by Funcom, is coming to PC very soon. To help hype up the game’s co-op mode, the developer and publisher have released a video explaining the multiplayer.

As noted by Petroglyph, most RTS games feature single-player only or 1v1 multiplayer. Instead, in Conan Unconquered players can experience something new for the RTS genre; a co-op mode that works as well as the main campaign.

In co-op, each player has their own army and hero but have to share resources and buildings with the other player. Co-ordinating attacks and defence is what makes the mode so compelling.

Conan Unconquered Multiplayer

Executive Producer Ted Morris (Command & Conquer, Star Wars: Empire at War) said, “We’re trying to make it as cooperative an experience as possible.” Senior Game Designer Patrick Pannullo added, “Where the challenge comes in, is in trying to coordinate between the two of you, in order to fight more difficult mobs.”

Finally, it’s been revealed that Conan Unconquered will include Challenge Mode. This gives players the option to share a link with friends that gives them the same map and settings as was just played.

On sharing the link, players can challenge their friends to try and get a better score with almost identical circumstances.

Conan Unconquered will be available on May 30.
