Chengdu Hunters are the newest Overwatch League team to be announced

Another day another team reveal. This time it’s the Chengdu Hunters.

As the base of operations for Panda populations in China I was convinced they were going to be the Pandas but at least they have a grumpy looking Panda in the logo.

With a bold yellow colour scheme and the tagline — #LetsGoHunt — Chengdu are serious business when it comes to esports.

Chengdu Hunters

Being partially operated by RNG, one of the most well-known and successful Chinese esports orgaznisations, the Hunters are shooting or the top.

With no information on their player roster yet and a still to be announced Hangzhou side, there is speculation that silkthread of LA Gladiators fame will be heading up the Hunters. A few tweets with no context other than he’s returning to China for the first time in six years and a retweet of the team’s logo is all the information we have right now.

It’s not much to go on, but it’s a hint that silkthread may be on the Chengdu Hunters’ roster.

In any case, I’m looking forward to seeing who’s on the team.

You can get more news about the Chengdu Hunters on their Twitter page. Also, don’t forget to follow the Overwatch League and Power Up! on Twitter as well and remember, season 2 starts February 15, 2019.
