Gfinity Elite Series Season 2 launches next month

Sydney braces itself, anticipation rising as Gfinity Elite Series Season 2 prepares to launch.

Battle will commence on November 3, with the finals taking place at Hoyts Entertainment Quarters on December 15 and 16. The end of the year looks to be an exciting time for Australian esports after a strong schedule of events comes to a close with what is arguably the best locally hosted event all year.

All the action be hosted live on TwitchTV with VOD available later. You can also check out the action from Season 1 on YouTube.

Supported by returning major sponsors AlienwareLogitech and Dare Iced Coffee) it’s safe to say that the event’s future is in good hands. With tickets on sale for every day of games Season 2 has to offer, this is going to be a month and a half long celebration of premium Australian esports.

Gfinity Elite Series Season 2

Melbourne Team ORDER away victorious in Season 1, flexing their skill and dominating the competition as they secured first place for Counter-Strike, Rocket League and Street Fighter V. But dizzying heights precipitates a heavy fall, with such a huge target on their back can they defend all three titles?

With all clubs spending their downtime tuning their rosters and practising every waking moment, Melbourne ORDER will have to fend off no less than five returning clubs all hungry for success.

The battle lines are drawn, Sydney Chiefs are looking to secure the victory and bring arguably the strongest Counter-Strike and Rocket League teams in the country. They recently earned themselves a spot in the World Finals series of Rocket League in their close finals battle only last weekend.

Sydney Roar are taking the opportunity seriously, adding new players to each game roster, they have a deep bench of specialists players to handle any situation.

Melbourne Avant have proven themselves in local competition time and again they are ready for the big leagues. A roster of pure potential is their greatest strength, coupled with a strong organisational leadership in and out of the game.

They are a real shot at taking away the Counter-Strike title from their main competition ORDER. I have played against Avant’s in-game leader moeycq on LAN a couple years ago and his depth of knowledge of the game is scary. Look for Avant to play strong adaptive CS all Season 2.

Probably the freshest club of the lot and self-proclaimed underdogs — with a lot of heart — are the Brisbane Deceptors. Looking to establish themselves in the esports scene, they bring a lot of talent and I think with some time we will see them moulded to become a gaming powerhouse that will do Queensland proud.

The sixth but far from the least of the teams competing in Gfinity Elite Series Season 2 are Perth Ground Zero. An offshoot of Ground Zero Gaming, proudly representing the west and pooling from a huge range of talent. Ground Zero have been busy recruiting and training specifically for the Elite Series, looking to put on a top-notch performance and represent the west with pride.

With such a huge range of talent from players, coaches, casters and production crew the Gfinity Elite Series Season 2 is gunning for the number one spot for esports events in Australia. With esports popularity on the rise, they have a monumental task ahead of them, but I think they are up for it.

If Season 1 is a measure of the competition, then @eason 2 looks to blow the doors straight off the hinges.
