From Software’s next entrant in the sadomasochistic genre known as Soulsborne is Sekiro Shadows Die Twice. Announced at E3, the Sekiro Shadows Die Twice release date has now been announced.
Thankfully, it’s not too far away.
Coming in March 2019, Sekiro Shadows Die Twice will be available in a special Collector’s Edition packed with real-world stuff to put on your shelf. Hidetaka Miyazaki is directing Sekiro and although compared to Dark Souls, it sets itself apart quite a lot.
Sekiro Shadows Die Twice Release Date
In Sekiro, players don’t level up through an RPG-style system nor do they chip away at an enemy’s health. Instead, in Sekiro Shadows Die Twice players use sword techniques to open an enemy’s defences and deliver a killing blow.
As part of the demonstration of Sekiro at Gamescom, fans will be introduced to a few features included in the game for the first time. These include Sword Arts, Prosthetic Tools and Resurrection.
Sword Arts are powerful techniques that players can use to enhance and improve their arsenal of attacks. Sword Arts supplement regular attacks in order to more quickly and effectively make way for the final blow.
Prosthetic Tools include the Grappling Hook (amongst others) that allow the player to find an enemy’s weakness. These tools also open up traversal options, granting access to new paths and areas to explore.
Resurrection is just as it sounds. Allowing players to return to life after death, Resurrection can be used “as an opportunity for a tactical retreat or to deceive an enemy.”
The special Collector’s Edition, launching alongside the standard and digital editions is available to pre-order today for $149.95 AUD and includes;
- Full Game
- 7” Shinobi Statue
- SteelBook
- Collectable Artbook
- Map
- Digital Soundtrack
- Replica Game Coins
Sekiro Shadows Die Twice is set during the 1500s Sengoku period in Japan and stars the titular Sekiro, meaning ‘one-armed wolf.’ Disgraced and left for dead, players must take their revenge.
Sekiro Shadows Die Twice will launch for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on March 22, 2019.
