Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Game Director Scott Phillips wants to release it for Switch

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is the next instalment in the time-travelling franchise. Officially announced just ahead of E3, Odyssey will be set in Ancient Greece and will double down on Origins’ RPG mechanics and elements.

We know that Odyssey is coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One, but what about Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Switch?

It seems that Game Director Scott Phillips would love for that to happen, though it looks like there are no current plans to port Odyssey to Switch.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Switch

In a recent interview with GameInformer, Phillips was asked if Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Switch was possible. Phillips’ response was;

I don’t know how to program, so otherwise I would do it myself

It seems pretty cut and dry that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on Switch isn’t actively being developed, but is something the team has thought about. It’s hard to know how a game like Odyssey would run on the Switch, but given that we’ve seen ports of DOOM and Wolfenstein II, anything is possible.

The last Assassin’s Creed title to be released for a Nintendo console was Black Flag on the Wii U. It’s been a long time between drinks for Nintendo fans.

We’ll bring you more news of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Switch as we have it.
