Steve Jackson Games and Games Workshop team up for Munchkin Warhammer 40K

Steve Jackson Games and Games Workshop are teaming up to bring together the worlds of Warhammer 40K and Munchkin. Munchkin Warhammer 40,000 is coming in 2019 and aims to be the “biggest, back-stabbiest, most loot-filled heavy-weapons bonanza of the year.”

Since its launch in 2001, Munchkin has sold over 9 million copies and partnering with Warhammer 40,000 is sure to increase that figure.

Warhammer 40,000 is the incredibly popular, tabletop miniature combat game and is now in its eighth edition.

In Munchkin Warhammer 40K players will be able to become an Ultramarine, Necron, Aeldari, Ork, Death Guard or Tyranid and work to defeat monsters and the other players. Like with all Munchkin expansions, this latest will easily integrate with all others inclduing Munchkin Zombies, Star Munchkin and of course the original too.

Illustrated by principle Munchkin artist John Kovalic and designed by Andrew Hackard, Munchkin Warhammer 40K has been designed in collaboration with Games Workshop.

“I have never seen a game store without a Warhammer 40,000 section,” said Hackard. “It’s a pleasure to get to play around in a setting that has such a rich history and so many dedicated fans around the world!”

The expansion will launch in 2019 followed by two 112-card expansions. All up, Munchkin Warhammer 40K will feature almost 400 new cards.

Stay tuned for more Munchkin news.
