Metro Exodus delayed into 2019

Metro Exodus, the upcoming third title in the Metro series has been delayed into 2019.

First announced at E3 2017, Metro Exodus was scheduled to arrive in 2018, but it’s now been revealed that it won’t be available until 2019. The delay comes via THQ Nordic’s financial reports for Q1 2018.

Back in November 2016, it was believed that a new Metro title would debut in 2017. While Metro Exodus was announced in 2017, it wasn’t really a debut of the next title. And now it’s delayed until 2019.

Metro Exodus Delayed

Metro Exodus is the follow-up to both Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light which are based on Dmitry Glukhovsky’s dystopian, post-apocalyptic novels.

Set in 2036, Metro Exodus takes place in Moscow, 23 years after the Earth has suffered Nuclear War. Players will again play as Artyom and events will continue on from Metro Last Light’s ‘Redemption’ ending.

The game takes place over the course of one-year and sees Artyom and his wife Ana escaping to the east.

In addition to the news of Metro Exodus being delayed, THQ Nordic’s financial results revealed that both Biomutant and Darksiders 3 do not have release dates or even release windows as yet.

Hopefully, we’ll learn more about THQ Nordic’s games at Gamescom.
