Report – Soul Calibur 6 to be released this September, includes two story modes and asynchronous multiplayer, cover art leaked

While Bandai Namco hasn’t made any official announcement, Amazon Italy may have just leaked the Soul Calibur 6 release date.

The latest in the Soul Calibur series comes six years after the previous release and will feature Geralt from The Witcher series and new character Grøh. It is a celebration of the series’ 20th anniversary and takes place in the 16th century, revisiting events of the first game.

Soul Calibur 6 Release Date

Without a firm release date, fans are waiting and pouncing on any and all information about Soul Calibur 6. Amazon Italy’s listings state that the Soul Calibur 6 release date is September 27, 2018.

At this stage, Bandai Namco has yet to comment on the date and the Amazon Italy listings are still live; PS4 & Xbox One. In case the links go dark, we’ve got a screenshot of the PS4 listing below.

The listing also includes some interesting details about Soul Calibur VI. The game information on Amazon Italy (via Google Translate) states that Soul Calibur VI will include two story modes, asynchronous multiplayer and eight-directional movement.

Having two story modes sounds plausible as it ties into the information that Soul Calibur VI will revisit the original game and expand upon it. Though how it could support two full stories is unclear.

As for asynchronous multiplayer, how that works in a fighting game is anyone’s guess. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Finally, the Amazon Italy listings have seemingly revealed the PS4 and Xbox One cover art. You can view them below.

For now, the Soul Calibur 6 release date is unknown, but it could be September 27, 2018.
