Ubisoft and The Division celebrate two years and 20 million players

Ubisoft and The Division are celebrating two years since the Dollar Bill flu this week. Not only that but The Division celebrates 20 million players since launch.

That’s a huge achievement.

Ubisoft was kind enough to provide this infographic to help break it down.

As a way to thank all the players who’ve taken part as The Division celebrates 20 million players, Ubisoft is organising a month of global, in-game events and activities.

There will be four global events between March 1 and March 29 (one per week) and additional activities over the period.

Global Events are a live feature in Tom Clancy’s the Division that alter the game experience by adding modifiers to all in-game activities while granting participating players a chance for special cosmetic and gameplay rewards.

It’s no surprise that today The Division celebrates 20 million players as Ubisoft is quick to point out. In the beta phase, The Division drew 6.4 million players. A record for a beta phase for a new franchise.

The Division celebrates 20 million players

At launch, The Division became the fastest-selling franchise in gaming and has had steady and increasing player counts since then.

Following its release, Ubisoft supported The Division with three expansions and nine updates, ensuring balanced gameplay, quality of life changes and new content for players.

Creative Director Julian Gerighty said;

We are very proud of what we have achieved during these past 2 years. Listening and giving back to the community has always been our first objective and we would like to thank all The Division players for their valuable feedback and their support

After two years, The Division is still going strong and features PvE, PvP, Global Events, Survival Mode and more. Ubisoft is committed to supporting The Division so keep an eye open for more updates.

The Division is available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
