Forza Horizon developer Playground Games announces its next game is an open-world RPG

Playground Games, best known for developing the Forza Horizon series, has announced its next title. While the name, gameplay details, setting or really anything about it remain unknown, Playground did announce that the game is an open-world RPG.

Playground Games made the announcement in a tweet which also showed off the developers new offices.

Founder and creative director Ralph Fulton told GamesIndustry.biz a bit about the new project in February of this year. “It’s a great opportunity for us to test ourselves in a different genre. We feel like we’ve become pretty good at racing games over the years.

“We can always get better, we can always strive to get better but we’d love to prove ourselves in a different genre. That’s another goal of Project 2, to allow us to do that. We’re going to need to hire some very talented people with experience that we don’t have.”

Playground Games most recent release was Forza Horizon 3 which was met with critical acclaim. Especially in this country.

We’ll bring you more news of Playground Games’ next project as we have it.
