Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus takes aim at Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan

Proving it’s an equal opportunity destroyer of fascists, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus’ launch trailer features a surprise enemy. A Klan member.

We’ve known since it was announced that The New Colossus was set in Nazi-occupied America. It shouldn’t be surprising to see that there are also KKK members in the game. Still, it’s a visually arresting image. We know the Klan are a fascist hate-group, yet they’ve not, to my knowledge, appeared as villains in a video game before.

We’re used to murdering Nazis and now. Thanks to The New Colossus, the KKK gets a taste of what it’s like to be mown down by millions of bloodthirsty gamers.

The KKK member getting blown away is part of the launch trailer which you can view above. There’s really no two-ways about the content of the game. It’s clear which side of history that Bethesda, Machine Games and anyone who’s not a fascist sees the Nazis on.

As BJ Blazkowicz says in the trailer “Come and fucken get me you fascist Nazi pigs.” That sounds like Bethesda speaking directly to those who were offended by the #NoMoreNazis marketing and the “Make America Nazi Free Again” slogan.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on October 27.
