Junkertown, primed and ready!

Blizzard has announced that everyone’s favourite Aussie heroes, Junkrat and Roadhog, will finally get to show off their homeland in Overwatch. The Junkertown map sees heroes escorting a booby trapped payload to the town’s Queen.

Let’s let Junkrat explain.

Set in the post-apocalyptic Australian outback, Junkertown is the first new Escort map since release. it joins Route 66, Dorado and Watchpoint: Gibraltar. The map looks bigger and more open than most of the other maps in Overwatch so far and should make for some excellent battles.

Junkertown is Overwatch’s second Australian map, with the Sydney Harbour Arena map for Lucio Ball the first. Australia is enjoying a lot of Blizzard and Overwatch love at the moment. Alongside the two maps and the amazing animated short featuring Junkrat and Roadhog above, Sydney also played host to an Overwatch World Cup Group Stage.

At that event, the Australian team was victorious and will be headed to BlizzCon to take on the best in the world.

The Overwatch Summer Games event is currently live and will end August 29 in Australia. This year’s Summer Games introduced a ranked mode for Lucio Ball and a host of new skins and cosmetic items. make sure you collect the ones you want before the event ends.
