Animal Crossing: New Leaf update comes to retail this week

Earlier this month, Nintendo released an update for Animal Crossing: New Leaf. The update added a brand new area, amiibo functionality, new items and more. This week, a new, retail edition of the title will be available to purchase that features the original game and all new features.

The new area is a special RV camground featuring all new possibilities for players’ towns. When used with amiibo players can invite new visitors to the RV campground, get new items and take photos with their new friends. Sixteen Animal Crossing amiibo are compatible with the title following the update in addition to hundreds of Animal Crossing amiibo cards.

The new features that requires amiibo are Wisp’s Wishes, amiibo cards, RV campground and special bonus games. Players without amiibo will still be able to unlock MEOW Coupons, amiibo Camera mode, secret storeroom, touchscreen decoration and Happy Home transfer.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo is availble digitally now via update and will be available in stores for 3DS from November 24.
