Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name gets a new trailer from Gamescom

He couldn’t stay away. Kazuma Kiryu is back in Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name and today, SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have released a new, 7-minute trailer. This new trailer gives a high-level overview of everything players can expect in Like A Dragon Gaiden.

The trailer gives fans a quick look at the game’s story, combat and mini-games. It also shows a glimpse of the revamped Cabaret Club and Hostess mini-games which now appear to feature live-action footage of the Hostesses you interact with.

Pre-ordering Like A Dragon Gaiden grants access to “the Legendary Fighter Pack, which includes Like a Dragon icons Goro Majima, Taiga Saejima and Daigo Dojima as playable characters in the Coliseum battle arena mode”

In addition to the pre-order bonuses, anyone who purchases Like A Dragon Gaiden will gain access to a demo for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. In Like A Dragon Gaiden, Kiryu, going by the codename Joyru, is forced to come out of hiding after a mission for the Daidoji faction doesn’t go to plan. Like A Dragon Gaiden takes place between Yakuza 6 and Yakuza: Like A Dragon.

Unlike Yakuza: Like A Dragon, Like A Dragon Gaiden returns to the real-time combat of previous titles. Kiryu has access to two combat styles; Agent and Yakuza. The former is focused on speed and precision while the latter is similar to Kiryu’s fighting style from previous games.

Players will also be able to take part in Master System games within Like A Dragon Gaiden including;

  • Alex Kidd in Miracle World
  • Alien Syndrome
  • Enduro Racer
  • Fantasy Zone II: The Tears of Opa-Opa
  • Galaxy Force
  • Global Defense
  • Maze Hunter 3-D
  • Quartet
  • Secret Command

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio held a Cabaret Club Grand Prix to find its live-action Hostesses. Five models were selected and appear in the cabaret mini-game in Like A Dragon Gaiden. The Grand Prize winner will appear in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

Like A Dragon Gaiden will launch on 9 November 2023 for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
