[CANCELLED]

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the event needs to be cancelled.

PowerUp! is inviting you to join us for a Blizzard Sanctioned HearthStone Fireside Gathering during PAX Australia. Hosted by PowerUp! and taking place at Island Somewhere in Melbourne, our Fireside Gathering promises to be a great afternoon of fun, cards, board games, pinball and drinks.

The event will kick off at 3PM AEDT on Saturday, October 28 and will finish at roughly 6PM AEDTHearthStone will be played using the Conquest format — see the video above — and there may even be some special prizes on offer, courtesy of Blizzard. You’ll also be able to acquire the all-new Warlock hero Nemsy Necrofizzle.

While you’re not playing a game of HearthStone, you’ll be able to sit back and relax, grab a drink (or two) on PowerUp! and play some other games while you meet new people and make new friends. Due to the size of the venue, we only have space for 50 attendees. To secure your place you’ll need to tell us why you want to attend our Fireside Gathering.

To enter, simply click the link below and tell us in 25 words or less, “Who is the best HearthStone hero and why?”

Available during October at Fireside Gatherings is the special Fireside Brawl, Tag Team. Tag Team pairs attendees up to battle each other.

Tag Team is 3v3, with each team playing on a single device. The first player on each team gets to choose a preconstructed deck from one of the nine classes. When a player is defeated, one of their teammates tags in to Discover the next deck from the classes on screen and carry on the match. Three heads are better than one, so feel free to talk through your plays with your teammates! The first team to achieve three victories wins the match.

Island Somewhere is located at 213 Franklin Street, Melbourne, VICTORIA, right across the road from the Queen Victoria Markets.

Island Somewhere is home to Boardgames HQ and has a huge range of board games available to play; including waterproof Settlers of Catan. It also houses a secret pinball bar, Pinball Paradise. If you can find the entrance you’ll be able to play a handful of old and new pinball machines.

We hope you can join us for an amazing night. For more information, please check our event page and follow PowerUp! on Facebook and Twitter. You can view the event’s official page here.

We hope to see you there!

I've been playing games for the past 27 years and have been writing for almost as long. Combining two passions in the way I'm able is a true privilege. PowerUp! is a labour of love and one I am so excited to share.
