Eight Hidden Easter Eggs in Final Fantasy XIV just in time for Easter

Easter is (literally) right around the corner and celebrating Easter usually means smashing way too many Easter Eggs. But what if I told you there were delicious Easter Eggs that weren’t of the chocolate variety…?

I’m talking about the secret kind of Easter Egg, those special hidden gems that appear in games if you’re diligent or lucky enough to find them.

Final Fantasy XIV is no exception and we’ve compiled a list of eight wonderful Easter Eggs hidden off the beaten track and not part of the MSQ. There are eight minions and two mounts in the list and they’re all as magical as each other.

Final Fantasy XIV Easter Eggs

Giant Beaver

Quests: The Dancing Plague (Extreme), When Beavers Cry, And Then There Were None.

How to acquire: After defeating Titania in ‘The Dancing Plague (Extreme)’ quest, players will receive the Dancing Wing item. While this item can be used to craft many of “The Fae’s” weapons, by completing the two quests: ‘When Beavers Cry’ and ‘And Then There Were None’, players can instead use the Dancing Wing to acquire the Giant Beaver minion.

And just look how cute and ridiculous it is. As if you wouldn’t want to have that guy on your team.

Much-coveted Mora

Achievement: On a Boat V

How to acquire: To snag Much-coveted Mora, a ridiculously rare and difficult-to-obtain minion, players will need to earn 1,000,000 points while Ocean Fishing. Luckily, there are some very clever people out there and this guide on Reddit will teach you everything you need to know to speed up the process.

Corgi

How to acquire: Just look at its cuteness. This adorable minion will make you seem like royalty and will make you seem 10% cuter yourself, just be being ints presence. To unlock the Corgi, head to Idyllshire and speak with Faux Commander.

However, you’ll need to be packing a whopping 400 Faux Leaves to make the purchase. Well, what are you waiting for…go and start collecting them. This little guy needs a home!

Magic Broom

Craft: Level 50 Carpenter

How to acquire: You’re going to have to channel the man himself, JC, and get your carpenter skills sharpened up to earn this minion. Part cute companion and part household cleaning tool, the Magic Broom is a minion that will follow you to the ends of the world, cleaning any speck of dirt and grime along the way. The Minion can be crafted by a level 50 Carpenter.

Sky Blue Back

How to acquire: If the Corgi is the cute minion, Sky Blue Back is the one you’d say…”has character.” Available after completing the Endwalker main quest, you’ll need to unlock the Cozy Cabin on the Island Sanctuary.

With the cabin unlocked, have a chat with Horrendous Hoarder to purchase Sky Blue Back. However, you’ll need to come with 4,000 Seafarer’s Cowries.

Nagaxian Cat

How to acquire: If you’re not as dog person and the Corgi doesn’t do it for you, then maybe the Nagaxian Cat is the minion of your dreams…

To obtain this cute cat, players will need to collect 800 sacks of nuts — which are earned by completing Hunts. Once complete, trade with the NPC J’lakshai in Old Sharlayan to claim the Nagxian Cat.

Magicked Bed

Craft: Level 80 Carpenter with Master Carpenter VII

How to acquire: Eat your heart out Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Final Fantasy XIV has its own ridable bed. Players who want to roam Eorzea in comfort and style can craft this magic bed but first, they’ll need to be a level 80 carpenter with Master Carpenter VII.

That’s not all though! To craft this comfy and cosy mount you’ll need 3 Enchanted Elm Lumbers, 4 Undyed Velveteens, and 4 Cloudsbreaths.

Unicorn

Quest: Unicorn Power

How to acquire: Saving the best for last…it’s the Unicorn. So named for the massive head spike that’s charmed children and fantasists alike for generations. To unlock the Unicorn you’ll need to be a level 30 Conjurer (and not a White Mage) and complete the Unicorn Power sidequest.

Change to your Conjurer’s job and head to the Conjurer’s Guild. Speak to Braya and obtain the Unicorn Power Quest. You’ll be tasked with helping an injured Unicorn and when complete you’ll receive a Unicorn Whistle which will summon a Unicorn as your mount.
