11 Bit Studios Are Donating This War Of Mine Profits To Ukrainian Red Cross

Polish game developer 11 Bit Studios has today announced its intentions to donate all proceeds from This War of Mine sales across all platforms to the Ukrainian Red Cross. The news comes as Russia begins enacting military action and occupation of its neighbouring country Ukraine. In a statement made on its official Twitter account, 11 Bit Studios decried the acts of war with the unambiguous #FuckTheWar hashtag and full statement as seen below.

11 Bit Studio Declare Support For Ukraine

Given both Poland’s proximity to Ukraine and 11 Bit Studio’s body of explicit anti-war work, this move has evidently come from the heart. “we stand against the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Just words would be empty without a meaningful act though, and the timing is crucial” the statement reads, “..for the next seven days, all profits from This War of Mine, all its DLCs, on all stores and all platforms will go to a special fund. A week from now, this money will be donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross to directly support victims of war in Ukraine.”

The video game industry is unfortunately rife with companies whose primary goal is to remain as neutral as possible on, recently escalating, issues. Whether that be systemic abuse within development teams or bigotry among fans – 11 Bit Studio’s clear and decisive action taken to tangibly support the victims of this war is commendable. Elsewhere, S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 developer GSC Game World has called for financial support of Ukraine’s military forces.

You can head over to Steam or any other major platform to grab This War of Mine now.
