Damian Lillard is the first of three cover stars for NBA 2K21 and stars in a hilarious trailer

Visual Concepts and 2K have announced the first of its three cover stars for NBA 2K21. The Portland Trail Blazers’ Point Guard and five-time NBA All-Star Damian Lillard has been announced as the lead cover for NBA 2K21 on all current-gen platforms.

2K and Visual Concepts said of Lillard;

Few players match his versatility on the court, and even fewer dominate the last minutes of the 4th Quarter when the game is on the line: Dame Time!

Lillard is also known as Dame D.O.L.L.A. off the court when he raps and has released three studio albums. 2K says Lillard’s status as a player and artist line up with the theme for NBA 2K21; Everything is Game.

NBA 2K21

Lillard said;

This is a special moment for me in my NBA career. I’ve been a fan of NBA 2K for years and love how they represent all aspects of basketball culture. I’ve been playing 2K my whole life and I’m honored to join the other NBA greats who have been on the cover. I’m grateful to all my fans and can’t wait for everyone to experience this game later this year.

Lillard will appear on the cover of the PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch and Xbox One versions of NBA 2K21. 2K and Lillard have also announced a partnership through 2K Foundations to “renovate a site in his hometown of Oakland, CA for the local community.”

2K has announced it will announce the cover star for the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions tomorrow. Additional details including pricing, release date and more will be revealed when pre-orders open on July 2.

Lillard has previously appeared on the cover of NBA 2K Online 2.
