Resident Evil 3 – How to Get the Shotgun

The Shotgun is a staple of the Resident Evil franchise. Resident Evil 3 is no exception. Even though you don’t even start Resident Evil 3 with a weapon at all, it’s not long before you get a Handgun. But don’t worry, it’s not much longer before you can get your hands on the good ol’ Boomstick.

The Shotgun is located inside the Subway Office but you won’t be able to grab it until you have the Bolt Cutters. If you’ve purchased the Bolt Cutters from the in-game store (using the currency you earn by playing) you can get the Shotgun even earlier.

But, if it’s your first playthrough, you’ll have to wait until you find them.

To get the Bolt Cutters, you’ll first have to go to the Subway Office and grab the Fire Hose from the Hallway. Once you have those, head back to the burning alleyway and put out the fire.

With the fire out, you can go down the alley and into the mechanic building. Inside is a Safe Room and hanging on the wall are the Bolt Cutters. Grab them and then head back to the Subway Office. If you went up to the roof and dropped the ladder, you can go straight from the Alley, up the ladder and across the roof.

If not, you’ll have to go back down the stone steps and through Moon’s Donuts. Once you’re through and on the other side, go back to the Subway Office and use the Bolt Cutters on the chain keeping the Shotgun locked up.

After that, it’s all yours.

Resident Evil 3 is available now.
