Warhammer Age of Sigmar Champions is coming to Switch this month

Playfusion announced Warhammer Age of Sigmar Champions for PC and Switch, back in January. Since then the PC release has come and gone while we’ve been patiently waiting for the announcement of the Age of Sigmar Switch release date.

Today, we can stop waiting. Playfusion has announced that Warhammer Age of Sigmar Champions will be coming to Switch on April 16.

This is a smart move by Games Workshop and Playfusion as we know that Hearthstone, one of the world’s biggest CCGs, is not coming to Switch. Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls Legends has also been announced for Switch, though there’s no release date at this stage.

That means that Age of Sigmar Champions on Switch is a first for the platform in terms of genre.

One of the best parts of the release on Switch is that the game will feature full cross-platform support for both mobile and PC. It will also feature touch-screen and Joy-Con support so players are able to play wherever they are.

Mark Gehard, CEO and Co-Founder of PlayFusion said;

The response for the physical and digital game has already been incredible, and we just can’t wait to watch that grow to new heights.

With the upcoming release of our Set 3 cards in Savagery, and a whole heap of new features like Arena of Echoes and Realm Trials, there’s always going to be something new to try. And now, there will be a much bigger community to try with.

When Warhammer Age of Sigmar Champions launches for Switch it will do so alongside a brand-new single-player adventure. Dubbed Realm Trials, this mode will reportedly feature “dozens of hours of content.”

That’s not all though as the Switch release will also feature the new mode Arena of Echoes.

Drafting decks from 2 given alliances, players will craft their own from a random selection of cards and battle through a series of League rounds to gain entry to the prize Gauntlet. Be careful not to lose, else you drop through the ranks and end your run.

In addition to the new modes, players on Switch will have access to the campaigns, ranked and casual matches, leaderboards and challenges.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar Champions launches for Switch on April 16.
