Twilight Princess HD and Wind Waker HD Rumoured to be coming to Switch via the eShop

There are rumours today that two Zelda HD titles will be coming to Switch. As tweeted by Nintendo influencer Stealth, both Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD are rumoured to be coming to the eShop.

Stealth doesn’t mention a timeline for the releases, nor does he acknowledge having any firsthand information from Nintendo.

Rather, Stealth states that he has been given this information from a Nintendo insider who has previously given him pre-release/pre-announcement information for over 15 titles long before they were revealed.

Zelda HD Switch

Nintendo never comments on rumours so there’s no way to confirm this until Nintendo makes an announcement, but there is evidence to support it.

For instance, both of these Zelda HD titles were released for Wii U. Meaning that porting over to the Switch would be less labour intensive than if they hadn’t been converted to HD. Additionally, Nintendo has already ported multiple Wii U titles to Switch including Mario Kart 8New Super Mario Bros UPokken Tournament, Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze.

Additionally, we know that a remake of Link’s Awakening is coming to Switch and there have been rumours that A Link to the Past will also be ported.

Until Nintendo makes an announcement I’d treat this rumour as it is. However, it’s still fun to imagine playing these games on the Switch and it’s ok to hope Nintendo does port them.

What other ports would you like to see come across to Switch?
