World of Warcraft adds two new Allied Races to Recruit

The new, hotly anticipated World of Warcraft allied races are now available for players to unlock. You’re going to need to have completed some gated content before you can begin the quest, but if you’ve been playing World of Warcraft for the last at least four years, that’s not ground-breaking news.

The video below breaks it down into a few easy steps, but there’s more to it than that. You’ll need to have completed the War Campaign for your faction, meaning you’ve spoken to Anduin or Sylvanas and executed their will across the new lands.

Completing quests towards the War Campaign unlocks more flight paths across the enemy lands and leads towards the Pathfinder achievement. It’s a great idea to finish the War Campaign regardless.

World of Warcraft Allied Races

Once you’ve done that, comes the grind.

You’re going to need to reach the reputation level of Exalted with 7th Legion for Alliance or The Honorbound for Horde.

Doing so requires a few weeks of knocking out world quests. It’s a great way to gear up when you’re not running dungeons, so I strongly advise doing World Quests anyway.

Check out these dope bracers I got just for fighting a big angry hippo.

Once you’ve met these requirements, pop back to Stormwind or Orgrimmar and have a chat to your faction leader. You’ll find a new ambassador for the Dark Iron Dwarves (Super cool) or Mag’har Orcs (Uncorrupted by the Fel) waiting to give you a new quest once you’ve jumped through their reputation hoops.

As is with all Allied races, these characters start at level 20 and have a really nice-looking set of heritage armour for you to transmog your gear into. However, you have to level it normally.

If you boost an allied race to 110 and then to level 120 you won’t be able to have the heritage armour. This helps add a level of prestige to the heritage armour and let’s other players know you are dead serious about your character’s reputation.

With all this ‘Allied Races’hype, there’s plenty of speculation about when the Zandalari Trolls and Kul Tiran Humans will become available.

All I can say is watch this space.

As soon as they’re playable I’ll be streaming some Voodoo Druid business.
