What are the Captain Toad Treasure Tracker amiibo unlocks?

Plenty of Switch games are coming with packed in amiibo functionality. Captain Toad Treasure Tracker is no exception. What are the Captain Toad Treasure Tracker amiibo unlocks? Sadly, they’re not all that much.

On the Wii U, tapping the Toad amiibo would let players play the special Hide and Seek mode on any level. This feature is now included in the game without the need for amiibo.

Instead, now if you tap the Toad amiibo you’re given an Invincibility Mushroom. These make Toad and Toadette invulnerable to enemy attacks and acts like a Power Star in any other Mario title.

You can also unlock Invincibility Mushrooms by dying over and over. The game will then gift you one, much like the Super Guide.

Tapping any other amiibo will grant you either one or three 1-Up Mushrooms. There is a limit to the number of times you can tap your amiibo, though it does reset after a while, so feel free to get yourself plenty of lives.

It’s a shame that the amiibo functionality of Captain Toad Treasure Tracker isn’t more fully featured, but at least you can do something.

Something is better than nothing after all.

Captain Toad Treasure Tracker is available now.
