Overwatch Free Weekend kicks off this Friday

Blizzard has just announced an Overwatch Free Weekend. The Overwatch Free Weekend commences later this week and will be available for players across all platforms.

From February 16 through 19 the Overwatch Free Weekend will grant access to all 26 Heroes, 16 Maps and have the chance to unlock Loot Boxes and earn in-game items. Any and all progress made during the Overwatch Free Weekend will be transferred to the full game should players choose to purchase it.

Overwatch Free Weekend Rollout

During the Overwatch Free Weekend — as noted above globally — PlayStation Plus, Xbox Live Gold and Battle.net members will be able to download and play Overwatch for free.

Installing Overwatch during the Free Weekend

Installing Overwatch during the Free Weekend is going to be key to getting as much play time as possible. Thankfully, Blizzard has made it simple and easy.

Pre-loading for both PS4 and Xbox One players begins 11AMPST February 13 (7AM AEDT February 14). Simply head to the PlayStation Store of Xbox Marketplace after that time and install Overwatch Free Weekend.

PC players will be able to begin installing directly from the Battle.net client from February 19.

Overwatch is available now.

The Free Weekend runs from February 16 through 19.
