Here’s a side-by-side comparison of Skyrim on Switch and Xbox One

We’ve been lucky enough to be playing Skyrim on Switch for the better part of the last week. Our full review will give you our impressions, but spoilers, it’s great. Obviously, it is. But, we wanted to see how the Switch version would compare to others. So the video above is the Xbox One edition side-by-side Skyrim Switch comparison.

The video is the opening 8-minutes of Skyrim from the ride into Helgen through to the attack by Alduin. The Switch version seems to have less detailed textures, a shorter draw distance and jaggier edges. However, it looks a little sharper than the Xbox version.

Overall, it’s not as pretty, but it still looks decent and is perfectly playable. It looks best in handheld mode and, let’s face it, if you’re playing on Switch, handheld is the reason why.

Skyrim will be available on Switch, November 17, 2017.
