Destiny 2 – Meet Hawthorne and Louis

A new video from Bungie introduces us to a new NPC in Destiny 2; Hawthorne.

Hawthorne is introduced to us as a survivor and a fighter. She also appears not to be a Guardian as she says “We’ve had to survive without the light all our lives.” Hawthorne carries a sniper rifle and seems to fit into the Hunter type, though Cayde-6 notes she’s not part of his group.

She’s nonchalant about it, casually explaining that she doesn’t like capes. Cayde-6, in typical roguish fashion, comments on her poncho.

Hawthorne also has a pet hawk named Louis. What role he’ll play in Destiny 2 we’ve yet to see. This trailer and the introduction of NPCs is a big step forward for Destiny 2. The first game was roundly criticised for its lack of story and non-player characters. It looks like this time around Bungie is doing everything they can to remedy it.

Destiny 2 will be available for PS4 and Xbox One on September 6 and PC on October 24.
