Sony’s Wharf4Ward raises a record $1.1 million

In Sydney on October 27, the Sony Foundation hosted its biggest annual fundraiser, Wharf4Ward. Some of Sony’s biggest musical acts performed in support of youth cancer program You Can and helped raise a record breaking $1.1 million.

The event included a takeover of the restaurants along Wolloomooloo Wharf and saw 800 guests from all walks of life come together. Sony Foundation’s You Can program was the recipient of the donations and was created by Sony Foundation to bridge the gap between adult and paediatric care. Funds are being raised to build special youth cancer centres for 15-25 year old sufferers.

Two centres have already been constructed in Perth and Melbourne and a third is underway in Sydney. Now in its 8th year, Wharf4Ward has raised a total of $5.5million.
